Our Grant Making Process

United Way of Northwest Michigan makes grants to the most cost effective community programs and organizations that best align with our grant goals and geographic footprint. A broad group of diverse community volunteers determines what grants should be made after reviewing proposals, interviewing applicants and weighing over-all community needs. We then monitor results to insure donor funds are spent as promised and make a difference.

February 1st RFP’s sent out
February 12th Grant Applicant Information Session 9:00am – 10:30am
February 13th Grant Applicant Information Session 2:30pm – 4:00pm
February 18th Letter of Intent due
March 10th Complete Grant Application due
April 7th and 8th Grant Interviews
April 9th Board Approval
