Our mission is to efficiently raise and effectively distribute financial and volunteer resources to support community-determined initiatives that improve the lives of community members.

Donations

Donations to the United Way of Northwest Michigan are invested in the most effective local programs. Trained local volunteers rigorously review grant proposals and interview applicants before making recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. Proposals must show how projects will deliver results that address community needs. Programs are expected to stretch donors' contributions by bringing organizations together to find the most cost effective approaches to community challenges.
